I am captivated and allured, by words.I will consistently recall the words ââ¬Å"I guarantee them all.â⬠They originates from Huxleyââ¬â¢s Brave New World. John the Savage talks them, guaranteeing humanities right to misery. I was fourteen when I read those words. I recollect the joy, I felt triumphant. I recollect undignifiedly bouncing around. Would it be a good idea for me to truly have been this cheerful over the privilege to hopelessness, when I as of now reserve the option to the quest for joy? Iââ¬â¢ve concluded that the reasons those words made me so upbeat was on the grounds that they developed three thoughts that I knew in the rear of my psyche would be significant for understanding the world. The primary thought was that a few people are just a specific way since they never had the chance to be something else. A few people are charming simply because theyââ¬â¢ve never been confronted with anything upsetting. In any case, most would concur, that having a decision to show improvement over just feeling better, the last being the implied saying of the general public in Brave New World. The doubt that was activated by perusing Huxleyââ¬â¢s great was that really beneficial things are difficult. Doing great frequently originates from conquering terrible. Chivalrous acts are not ordinary ones. Hopelessness gives mankind the possibility to improve. This prompts the third idea, that one of the attributes of humankind is despondency. Be that as it may, possibly, as a people, weââ¬â¢ve consistently had a skill for confronting affliction. That is by all accounts prove by the way that we are still here. Thomas Jefferson wrote in the assertion of autonomy that we reserve the privilege to the quest for satisfaction and Iââ¬â¢ve come to perceive that joy isn't a condition. Itââ¬â¢s a second that you run for, and that occurs en route. You can never really feel it if youââ¬â¢ve felt nothing else. Huxley knew this and he conferred it to me in just four words. It will most likely take more to fix the world. It tends to be finished. I need to do it. With words. I need to fix something. Perhaps the world for one moment. I realize it will hold for just so long. And afterward I need to begin once more. That is my obsession.

The perseverance and hounded assurance of ladies has been the driving force for the sanctioning of laws to ensure themselves as well as other people in the work environment. The laws that have been established don't just arrangement with sex separation, yet additionally segregation dependent on conjugal status, pregnancy, race, incapacities, sexual inclination, and age. Directly today ladies have the ability to break free from the weight of sexual orientation jobs that were set coercively on them by society for some, numerous decades. The generalizing of ladies has likewise influenced them in the work environment; since forever ladies have been the person who has had the job of housewife, nurturer, and mother. Ladies are thought to remain at home and to deal with the family unit and the youngsters, alongside that they have been relied upon to prepare suppers, do clothing, and to deal with the childrenââ¬â¢s school exercises. Because of the ladies caring the title mother and nurturer as an essential job, the individuals who went outside of that job and took an occupation in the working environment they were thought of as to a lesser extent a lady, narrow minded, or a terrible spouse/mother. Likewise ascribed to their situation in the home, ladies who looked for vocations outside of the family were given employments that were useless, insignificant, or that met at least one generalizations about ladies. Additionally, ladies were not thought of as being exceptionally savvy nor have gifts or capacities outside of the family unit, so accomplishing occupations in places of administration or the board were not commonsense. Clearly, in view of the change on the job of ladies consistently and the invasion of ladies into the workforce there has been a powerful change in the family life. In spite of the fact that this time of progress has been pervaded by assurance, determination, accomplishment, and battle by which we have seen the improvement of ladies in the working environment, anyway it is still certain that ladies in corporate America are not liberated from all obstructions, they are as yet abused. Indeed, even in the twenty-first century ladies are as yet not exactly offered like equivalents men, particularly with regards to the territory of equivalent compensation, since female work is viewed as a substandard piece of the workforce. In spite of the fact that this isn't exactly as observed as much as it was in earlier decades it is as yet existent. Throughout the years through experimentation it has been demonstrated that ladies are similarly as qualified, if worse qualified than men at what they do. Explanation of the issue: Do working moms sway the mother-kid relationship? Since ladies have invaded the working environment the structure of the average family unit family has experienced some significant changes. Since the mother, whom satisfied the job of nurturer and guardian, had moved from the house to the working environment the fatherââ¬â¢s job in the family needed to increment from the run of the mill all-American thought of a spouse/father. Presently the ââ¬Å"wifelyâ⬠obligations must be part among the guardians for a solid and useful family unit and relationship. Presently letââ¬â¢s investigate how a functioning mother may affect either adversely or decidedly the bringing up of youngsters. Numerous investigations have been directed that have analyzed the offspring of utilized and jobless moms on kids, for example, proof of intellectual and socioemotional improvements have not prevailing to discover significant contrasts. The consequences of the examinations show that the girls of utilized moms have been found to have higher scholarly accomplishment, more noteworthy achievement in their profession, increasingly contemporary decisions in vocation, and more prominent duty to work; when contrasted with the investigations of kids in neediness (in both two-parent and single parent families) discovered higher subjective scores for youngsters with utilized moms just as higher scores on socioemotional advancements. Additionally a couple of prior investigations show that the children of utilized moms in the working class display indications of lower school execution and lower I. Q. centers during grade school a long time than full-time homemakers. It appears in the examinations that young men have to a greater extent a troublesome time adapting to a working mother, as opposed to females. What's more, past research has additionally given some social change contrasts between kids with utilized and non-utilized m other in children. Results for children have been very blended and differ with social class and furthermore with how old the youngsters were the point at which they were tried. One finding from the 1970s was that in the industrial class, children of utilized moms did well scholastically however there was a strain in the dad child relationship. This was deciphered as mirroring the more customary sex job perspectives in the manual class. The moms business was viewed as a sign that the dad was a lacking provider, and if the dads assisted with housework and youngster care, they hated it. We didn't discover this at all and it might mirror the change throughout the years in sexual orientation job mentalities in the common laborers. As time advances the less cliché sees become and the more mainstream nontraditional view become across class. Be that as it may, young ladies with working have been appeared to alter and adapt fine and dandy to their mom working. Young ladies with utilized moms were more probable than young ladies whose moms were full-time homemakers to demonstrate that ladies just as men could do the exercises that are normally connected with men; that is, utilized moms little girls considered ladies to be more able in the generally male area than the homemakers little girls. This outcome held for young ladies in two-parent homes and young ladies in one-parent homes. Then again, in two-parent families, the two children and girls of utilized moms felt that men could do the female exercises, while those with full-time homemakers didn't, however this was genuine just in two-parent families. Ensuing examination indicated that the explanation it was just found in two parent families is that, it was conveyed by the way that, in the two parent families, fathers with utilized spouses were progressively dynamic in generally female errands and in kid care. Twenty years prior, it would have appeared to be odd to give a discourse on working moms and not center around it as a social issue, yet there is little in research to propose it is. The moms business or non-work has consequences for family and youngsters the same, however not many of these impacts are negative ones. Actually , most appear to be sure similar to the higher scholarly results for youngsters, benefits in their social direct and social alteration, and the higher feeling of fitness and adequacy in girls. All in all, these examination results recommend that most families suit to the moms business and in doing so give a family situation that functions admirably. Well defined rules and regulations that govern how each member functions or speak as well as defining the general functioning of the entire meeting. Clear meeting objectives need to be adopted as well as settings up appropriate leadership and good communication strategies in order to achieve efficient ground rules. Consequently, sound individual and intergroup relationships are firmed established paving way for successful meetings ahead. The interprofessional teams stand to achieve more given the combination of their different and unique skills which will be useful in achieving the set goals. However, the success of the team will be attributed to the collaboration and organization of each individual member. Therefore, some of the ground rules that will help guide the team throughout their mee tings and work stay include:Ground Rules for the Team * Meetings will take place at scheduled times without fail. Any member unable to attend the meeting will be required to confirm with the coordinator. * Changes in meeting venue will be discussed with every member without fail to ensure seamless continuity during meetings and work. * Meetings will start every morning unless otherwise decided * Members are urged to present their ideas and opinions during presentations while the rest of the team listen in * Conflicting ideas and opinions shall be resolved in an amicable manner.According to Sims et.al (1982), there are four distinct characteristics emitted by productive teams and their team members. These include communication, cohesion, leadership, and heterogeneity. These different personalities, in turn, cause differences in expectations and experiences by each individual member. These differences in personalities can use to increase the team efficiency by blending each other. How ever, lack of cooperation from the team members may cause conflicts that may affect the team efficiency. According to Small,(2010), disharmony and disagreements within a group cause differences in the ideas and methods raised by individual members.Conflict Resolution Strategies for Interprofessional TeamsDejanasz, Dowd, and Schneider (2002) argued that effective team members in a group experience different stages of evolution namely forming, storming, norming, performing as well as adjourning. Further, they claim that the norming and the storming stages are linked to conflicts and conflict resolution processes. At the storming stage, there are chaos, disorganization and general disputes amongst the group members whereas the exact cause of conflict is yet to be identified. At norming stage, the cause of the conflict is identified and resolved. In addition, appropriate future strategies are put in place allowing members to work well and improve their performance. According to Spreitz er, (1995), differences in attitudes, perceptions, needs, personalities as well as values contribute to the majority of witnessed cases of conflicts. The meeting coordinator should make appropriate channels and avenues that address any forms of conflicts that are experienced during meetings.Appropriate group communication strategies should be adapted in order to accommodate every group member. Similarly, conflicts identified should be resolved immediately to avoid distracting the vision of the group. Additionally, compassionate communication is a new concept gaining traction in many workplaces and a sure way of eliminating conflicts between members and teams alike. Further, incorporating educational preparation for the team members during morning meetings will help in addressing future conflict. Another strategy for conflict resolution involves weekly or biweekly multidisciplinary meetings that aim to improve the individual and team relationship thus eliminating conflicts during th e teams stay. Team leadership, as well as individual team members, with prior disciplinary training, can assist in areas that require disciplinary actions including interdisciplinary communications (Krimshtein et al., 2011). During these meetings, some of the issues to be discussed include policy implementation, ground rules, as well as other methods of conflict resolution. Arbitration, mediation, conciliation as well as negotiation can also be used in instances of prolonged conflicts that may require a third party to intervene (Cheeseman, 2018).Additionally, Brown et al. (2010) found out in their research study that open and direct communication, respect and humility, as well as willingness to find solutions as an effective method of conflict resolution at an individual level. Applied at a macro level, collective use of this strategy by individual participants creates a collective innovative method applied by the entire team to eliminate and resolve conflicts (Greer, Saygi, Aalder ing de Dreu, 2012).Team members taking the lead in addressing crucial elements in the meetings such as aspects of communication, coordination, conflict resolution, collaboration as well as teamwork should be considered to take up leadership positions. The initial team meetings should address the team leadership. The candidates who volunteer for leadership positions should be voted by the members and the candidate with most votes takes the position. The leadership team is responsible for planning, organizing, coordination as well as conflict resolution activities. The leadership team should oversee the running of the entire program to fruition. The leadership team should ensure seamless information flow to the members and between teams. Failure of the program can be attributed to the team leadership. Therefore, ineffective leaders ought to be removed and replaced with competent leaders. The leadership team shall ensure that there is no information breakdown between the teams. Informa tion breakdown is a main cause of conflict. Prompt and important information that needs to be accessed by all group members should be communicated directly from the leadership without fail. A measure of leadership success can be attributed to the communication success that is experienced by the team members. Further, the ability of the leadership team to convey information that is easily understood is a key to ensuring that the meeting meets its set objectives. Unclear information will lead to information being misunderstood thus leading to the conflicts and even failure of the meeting. Team leadership is tasked and obligated to provide an effective and efficient communication channel that ensures improvement in the team communication relationship thus reducing potential conflicts (McLaughlin, Pearce Trenoweth, 2013).There should be regular reviews of the leadership performance pegged to the success of the team to meet its set objectives. The leadership reviews are weighted against the team successes, conflict resolution, and accountability by the leadership. Group leadership is responsible for team coordination which ultimately defines the success of the team (Locker and Kienzler, 2008). Unsatisfactory leadership reviews mean that the leadership has failed and required immediate replacement. Some of the basic elements of good leadership include being accessible, being non-judgmental as well as employing good-listening skills (Brown et al., 2010). Leaders not exercising such qualities should be replaced to ensure effective conflict resolution.Communication and Collaboration StrategiesAccording to Laschinger et al. (2009), the job satisfaction of nurses highly depends on workplaces issues such as personal communication relationship and inter-professional collaboration. Negative workplace issues have a negative influence towards the satisfaction of team members. Likewise, appropriate collaborative and communication strategies should be adopted to ensure the suc cess of the meeting. Various inter-professionals will work effectively given an environment that supports open and supported communication. The leadership is obligated to provide an environment that supports and insists on the importance of open communication within the workstations as well as during meetings. Improved output and research as well as participating in open meetings with various inter-professional members have been achieved as a result of the open communication culture (Gordon Hamric, 2006).According to AACN Essentials (2008), effective interpersonal and inter-professional collaboration clearly defines the roles of the members, provides a flexible decision-making process as well as establishing an open communication pattern and leadership. In addition to communication, teams and groups are able to coordinate, share, negotiate as well as solve problems more effectively (Smith and MacGregor, 1992). Representations of Caribbean Women in ââ¬ÅGirlââ¬Â - Literature Essay Samples
Mothers usually have their childrenââ¬â¢s best interest at heart, guiding them through life at an attempt to prevent offspring from repeating their own mistakes. In the short story, ââ¬Å"Girl,â⬠Kincaid depicts her teenage years after her mother gave birth to Kincaidââ¬â¢s three younger brothers in succession. The psychological perspective of this story raises many questions from critics on whether or not the motherââ¬â¢s state of mind and outlook on women altered after she gave birth to her three sons. Kincaidââ¬â¢s story amplifies there is an importance in cultural standards, gender roles and sex, and behaviors among Caribbean women. Throughout the story, the speaker portrays herself to be the mother and gives her daughter advice in several different areas of life, which greatly confuses Kincaid. According to Kincaid, in the Caribbean culture, there may be more reinforced, strict, and ridged expectations of gender roles. In the story, Kincaidââ¬â¢s Caribbean mother reinforces these ideals by making it clear she is trying to help Kincaid reach this standard which the mother, herself, likely grew up in. The mother makes a mention of her childhood standards by stating: ââ¬Å"Wash the white clothes on Monday and put them on the stone heap,â⬠and continues directing her daughter to wash the color clothes on Tuesday and to let them dry on the clothesline (Kincaid 95). One critic, Carol Bailey, also argues ââ¬Å"Girlâ⬠implies there are certain standards for young Caribbean women. Bailey critiques how the speaker in Kincaidââ¬â¢s story is repetitive when she mentions ââ¬Å"the slut you are so bent on becoming.â⬠Carol Bailey explains, ââ¬Å"The variations of this expression recur throughout the text and might be one of the seemingly obvious lines that sugges ts the speakerââ¬â¢s complicity with the system and illustrates her efforts to shape a woman who performs the script of chastity appropriatelyâ⬠(109). The oppression of gender roles can also restrict a womanââ¬â¢s ability to navigate sex and sexuality. In the text, Kincaidââ¬â¢s mother states her daughter is walking like a ââ¬Å"slutâ⬠by suggesting: ââ¬Å"[O]n Sundays try to walk like a lady and not like the slut you are so bent on becomingâ⬠(Kincaid 96). Kelly Falla critiqued this topic by stating, ââ¬Å"The mother thinks the daughter has already set herself up for a life of promiscuity. The mother even goes to the extreme of instructing her daughter on ââ¬Ëhow to make medicine to throw away a child before it even becomes a child.ââ¬â¢ This is a clear concoction to remedy an unwanted pregnancyâ⬠(Falla 3). The repeated shaming of appearance and its link to promiscuity portrays the mother had internalized issues about her own genderââ¬â¢s ability to be sexual. The fact Kincaidââ¬â¢s mother knew about an abortion recipe confirms she may have used it herself before. Throughout the short story, the young girl does not seem to completely understand her motherââ¬â¢s instructions on how to behave. The daughter reaffirms she does not understand by speaking in the text. She asks: ââ¬Å"but what if the baker wont let me feel the bread?â⬠(96). Kincaid ends the story with the motherââ¬â¢s vague response to her daughters question about feeling the bread: ââ¬Å"[Y]ou mean to say that after all you are really going to be the kind of woman who the baker wont let near the bread?â⬠(96). According to Kim Becnel, ââ¬Å"The most obvious meaning of the mothers question is the implication that the girl will, indeed, grow up to be a ââ¬Ëslutââ¬â¢ and, therefore, due to her lack of virtue, will not be allowed to handle the bread.â⬠Becnel goes on to mention, ââ¬Å"It is, however, also possible to interpret it as the mothers shock that her daughter, whom she has been so certain will grow up to be promiscuous, will, in fact, be such a v irtuous and unavailable woman that she will be unable to entice the baker into letting her touch his bread with all the sexual connotations therein implied.â⬠While it appears there are many possibilities the mother feels could happen to her daughter, the daughter still questions her motherââ¬â¢s true intentions. This leads the mother to be more concerned, implying some of these situations are inevitable. The motherââ¬â¢s interpretation of her daughterââ¬â¢s responses leads her to believe her daughter could be taken advantage of one of these days. The motherââ¬â¢s ideology of cultural standards, gender roles and sex, and behaviors confirms there is an unwritten rule about how Caribbean women should act. Works Cited Bailey, Carol.
